REFWORKS

RefWorks is a bibliographic and citation manager. As you conduct your research on a topic you can download or manually input your citations into RefWorks.

Once your citations are in RefWorks you can edit the citations adding your comment on an item to its record.

RefWorks also has a downloadable-tool called Write-N-Cite. It works in conjunction with Microsoft Word permitting you to insert citation markers as you write your paper.

When you are finished writing your paper 1. you are able to select the citation style required for the paper 2. have Write-N-Cite complete the paper inserting the correct citations where you have indicated 3. and generate a bibliography in that citation style -- (be sure to look over the citations and bibliography before handing in your paper!)

The tutorials for RefWorks (under Help in RefWorks) are excellent. They take approximately 30 minutes to review. Once completed you should feel very comfortable using the product.

To get to RefWorks. Go to: http://libraries.stjohns.edu Find and click on: Citing Sources/RefWorks Find and click on: RefWorks

Here you will find additional information about RefWorks, along with direct links to the Program and the tutorials.
