New Programs And Areas Of Interest

Program Name: Discover the World
Department: International Education - Office of Study Abroad Programs
Start Date: Ongoing
Notes: Discover the World introduces St. John’s students to the cultures of foreign lands, develops their writing and communication skills and gives them opportunities to serve the world’s poor. St. John's is expanding study abroad programs beyond the home campus in Rome to multiple University programs of exchange. Over 100 students will study in Paris, Rome and Salamanca as part of Discover the World - Europe, starting in Spring 2007. Discover the World - Latin America will enable students to earn credits during the summer in Costa Rica and Puerto Rico. Study abroad programs in Asia are also being explored, including Vietnam. International Programs on Campus in the U.S. include Caribbean and Latin American Studies (CLACS), Institute of Asian Studies, Department of Languages, and Global Development and Social Justice.

Department: Liberal Studies (St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences)
Start Date: Summer 2006
Notes: Summer courses are held in Rome. Other courses are offered via distance education.

Program Name: Master of Professional Studies in Criminal Justice Leadership
Department: Criminal Justice (College of Professional Studies)
Start Date: Ongoing
Notes: Courses offered at Queens, Staten Island, and Oakdale.

Program Name: Master of Professional Studies in Sport Management
Department: Sport Management (College of Professional Studies)
Start Date: 2007
Notes: Specializations include International Dimensions of Sport and Coaching Leadership.
